FUNKY, FUNKY....

I'm here in Green Valley, AZ. While, like everywhere that I've traveled, I meet the most amazing people and have the most enchanting time. But today for some reason, I've been in a major funk! MAJOR! Watch out, anyone in my tracks today!~ PS...I'm sorry....

I've applied for several jobs....all jobs that I am well qualified for. I even had my business coach review my resumes and cover letters and have had zero response. Yes, I know why I am not getting "JOBS", I'm not supposed to have one. My business coach said that he was mad for me. He's surprised that no one has even responded to my inquiries let alone not have been offered any positions. I said, "I know why! If someone offered me a job, I'd take it and that would take me off of my shamanic journey of following the flow of energy." Adding insult to injury, friends are around me are getting great jobs! 

I drove to Tucson today with a list filled with things to accomplish, starting with yoga. I then went to see a friend who owns a hot pool for aquatic massages to inquire about her position at Canyon Ranch. (A high end spa.) We brainstormed about some summer possibilities at her facility.

Next, I drove around in circles, not knowing what to do or where to go! I called a friend who was going to meet me in town and she said, "You sound tired or down. You should come back to my house." I started to head south but realized that wasn't the answer.

It was my child who was panty twisting and the wise parent finally came to the rescue. "Pati, when you're feeling off balance, go inside and follow the breath, until you feel a sense of calmness. Then go back to the last thing that was familiar and stand there until you gain clarity." The last thing...I have a list of things to accomplish. Even though it was the last thing that I wanted to do, I simply put one foot in front of the other, took out the list and carried on. 

I stopped by to see my shamanic astrologer friend who explained why I was in this funk. (Yes, something to do with the alignment of the planets!) Her husband and I have the same astrological charts and he said that he's been in a I don't want to, state of mind. He doesn't want to move in the world and do the things that he's been doing to generate a cash flow. ( Always a nice mirror for me!)

It's nearly 1AM as I write this. While I can't sleep and I still feel like curling up in bed and crying.  And I can't exactly put my finger on what the issues are, it's nice to know two things. One, someone had added a comment on the blog....so thank you for being out there....all of you....and secondly, THIS TOO SHALL PASS:-) One thing that always is true for me. I feel better after I've written:-) So thanks for listening:-)

December 21, 2012 Spiritually and Scientifically – Somethin’s a Brewin’!

While the Hopis, Mayans and many Native American visionaries, recognize that we are approaching the end of a World Age on December 21, 2012, scientifically, we know that the earth is coming to the end of a 26,000-year cycle known as The Great Year. Science further validates there is a magnetic field coming from the center of the Milky Way that is impacting earth (ie.,the weather) and its inhabitants.

Shamanic Astrology tells us that we are in the season (approximately 40 years either way) of the completion of this earth cycle, which they call, The Turning of the Ages.

As many of us can feel, time is speeding up! It’s kind of like winding up a top. The closer you get to the end the faster it goes. Once it’s complete, the tension releases and it starts all over again.

Whatever you call it, whatever the explanations are and whenever it happens is really irrelevant because right now, many of us are feeling the effects, the intensity, of this speeded up time. This speeding up of time is giving us opportunities to raise our energetic vibration, or become awake and conscious in our daily lives, to become enlightened or One with God. (The Journey ofthe Soul) Because we’re in the season of this shift, many of us are feeling more intensity in our lives and want the ride to stop so that we can get off! (Not happening, so hang on and try to enjoy the adventures that come with uncertainty!)

The Hopi and Mayan elders do not prophesy that everything will come to an end; rather, we’re simply in a time of transition from one World Age into another. In fact the Hopi Elders advise, Push back into the flow of the river…when you hang onto the side (resisting change, clinging to our narrow perspectives) that is when the energies intensify. Let go and let the flow take you. (Paraphrased)

The Sun has an eleven year Solar Cycle that is rapidly building toward another Solar Maximum expected to peak in 2013. 

This activates Auroras – as all wavelengths increase, including radio waves and gamma rays. The radiation Earth receives from these Solar Flares has been known to disrupt radio communications as well as radar and other types of equipment operating in these frequency ranges. 

The increased light activity affects, not only the Earth’s electro-magnetic fields but our personal electro-magnetic or auric fields as well.

During times of increased Solar Activity it helps to take time to get extra rest and to meditate, do yoga, eat raw, organic, living, high vibrational foods, focus on happy thoughts, exercise and other healthy activities such as soaking in epsom salts or a mineral bath. These are some of the things that will help to strengthen your personal energy field and raise your vibration or frequency.

Be sure to remember that even with all of these practices – there may be times when you feel exhausted, anxious and frustrated because whatever lower energies we are still dealing with – will surface in our awareness so we can transform them. That is actually a gift because it is providing an opportunity, meaning it is not a failure on our part but rather what we have agreed to transmute within ourselves – for our personal benefit of course – and for the benefit of the planet as we are the co-creators of the New Earth.

Shamanic Journey Workshop - (Spiritual Healing)

I've taken several workshops over the past few years that have involved Shamanic Journeys. A Shamanic Journey is where one consciously  tries to connect with spiritual support. It's kind of like praying and dreaming combined. I've never quite been able to get the hang of it according to how I interpreted  the experiences of others.

My last trip to LA, I discovered a Basic Shamanic Workshop that was going to take place in Phoenix, AZ, which I quickly signed up for. I wanted to get it right!

What I know about these intensives as they're called, is they are about one's personal journey/personal growth. The last little pieces of one's soul that are still in need of healing, emerge at these intensives. And being that I am on a journey to become real and authentic, I was honest with the feelings that were arising in me. 

The friend I attended with suggested to me, "Just change your language and stop acknowledging places of lack." I disagree with this philosophy. I believe that I have to take a look at the little places that still need to have a voice, be acknowledged, love them and then they can be set free. Otherwise what happens is they just continue to stay dormant, unaddressed and eventually these undressed areas can cause dis-ease.

While working at the Catholic Church, a priest friend said to me, "Pati, Jesus only condemned one people, the Pharisee's, people's whose insides didn't match their outsides." I spent years with my insides and outsides not matching, smiling and saying everything is OK.

I no longer do that, which can make others uncomfortable or perceive my being real as whining or looking for attention. But for me, it's simply sharing the real me, with my ups and downs and my coasting along status quo.

I don't need to be fixed, just a safe place to be real....so that when I find pieces of my soul that are still in need of being loved and accepted, I am free to do the personal work. I thank all of you who let me be real.....I love you.

SHAMANIC ASTROLOGY

Shamanic Astrology saved my life.....not literally, but REALLY close! When my life fell apart, the church said, “Give more, do more, pray more.....keep smiling!” The doctors said, “You’ll be fine, we’ll give you hormones, anti-depressants and sleeping pills! (Uh, you did that for my mother and my sister and their both dead....no thanks!)

But what I have since found out that when ‘life happens!’ the invitation is to ‘become real’ to know who we are on a soul level, who we were created to be and that doesn’t happen quickly or easily....even The Velveteen Rabbit wanted to become real without all of the ‘sad’ things happening to him!

I was so desperate for some answers and I knew someone had to know something about this thing we call life! A friend said "You should call Daniel Giamario!” “Give me the number!,” and I drove to Portland, Oregon (I lived in California) to see him. He was the first person who had anything to say that I could relate to at that time in my life.

Over ten years later, I call this man my friend and I am still singing the praises of knowing our own personal cycles in our lives and how when we are consciously moving through life, God/The Universe supports our choices every time!

As I was researching my second book, GPS for Living, Navigating Through Life, (Now for sale:) it became more evident to me about the cycles in our lives and as the bible says in Ecclesiastics, ‘There is a season for everything, under heaven.’

We can easily see in nature that everything has a life cycle. Easily recognizable are the butterflies, frogs, starfish, moon and plants. We even know that we as humans have a cycle in our lives, from infancy to adulthood, but what is more intriguing is the cycles in our lives that we may not be aware of.

There are cycles in our lives when we are to rest and times when all the doors are open and we can move forward without resistance. There are many cycles that have the same characteristics and they just cycle around, each time giving up another opportunity to go deeper, getting lessons that our souls have come to experience.

Spending 5 days in an intensive learning more about timelines I came to see clearer that we all have age appropriate timelines as well as personal cycles that are unique to us all as individuals. Once again Shamanic Astrology gives everyone permission to be who they are and appreciates the fact that everyone has their own unique gifts to share with the world and their own unique time to share it in.

If you find your body wanting to rest simply honor that, knowing that~this too shall pass:) and all too soon the cycles will change and you’ll be full speed ahead, but this time, fully present because you honored the rest your cycle was offering.

WE ARE ALL TEACHERS WE ARE ALL STUDENTS

Having had a lot of recent visitors to the new Riverbend Retreat House in Tubac, AZ, has been a grand (to use Irish lingo) to remind myself once again that we’re all teachers and we’re all students. We learn from each other. We share our experiences and our stories. We’re mirrors for each of us to see ourselves more clearly and visa versa. We are able to see where we’ve grown and and where we still need work and healing.

I had dinner last night with my Shamanic Astrologer friend. He was helping me with the part of my book about life cycles from a Shamanic Astrology view point. One of my favorite things that I love about his philosophy is that no matter who we are, what archetypes (astrological signs based on our birth, time, date and place) we have brought with us to this life, we all have a valid place on the wheel of life. We are all important and necessary. We are unique and not one other person is exactly like us. All of our gifts are needed. We all have a piece of the puzzle.

Once again, we are all on our own journeys. There is not one person on this earth that is not! So the next time you find yourself in awe of another, look at it as just a mirror to see yourself more clearly. It’s you too! You’ve attracted these people into your life. And I for one am honored to be in yours! Nameste my teachers, colleagues and friends. (The Divine God/Goddess in me, honors the Divine God/Goddess in you!) (P.S. I used the cartoon of the 2+2+22 as a way of showing Divine support. The number 2 is about keeping your thoughts positive as you are going to attract more of what you’re thinking.....2222! Quad whammy.....really pay attention!
