Hike to Half Dome (Part 2) Kansas, New Energy!

In my last blog, we left off where my gallon of water and food in my backpack were weighing me down and I was falling behind the group while climbing the billon steps to Half Dome. My little Sherpa Angel (my daughter) helped by carrying my pack on her front and her pack on her back part of the way. As a mom, it felt a bit out of order (ego), but as women on a journey together, I felt supported.

We continued the trek… the hares and the tortoise. While my gal pals seemed to sprint and then rest and refuel... I couldn't. So after getting my ego in check... again, I honored what my body was feeling. We continued to pass each other on the trail until about a mile or so from Sub Dome, when even the hares seemed to loose steam.

Then a miracle… We met Kansas. He was traveling alone and had hiked to Sub Dome but couldn't climb Half Dome because he didn't have a permit. My left knee (ego and pride) began hurting ALOT. Getting to the top was one thing, but I knew I had to hike the 8 miles back down. From the beginning, I was never sure that I was going to climb to the top of Half Dome, but on the other hand, I wasn't sure that I wasn't. I had no expectations. My reason for saying yes to the adventure had a little different flair than most. And I knew it from the first moment I set my foot upon the path in the very beginning.

There was alot of time for thinking and I remembered when my children were small we had a motorhome. We traveled… non-stop… from point A to point B. Finally, I had it with being a motorhome stewardess and said to my husband, "Do you suppose that we could enjoy the journey of getting there?"

That's what this trip was for me…. the journey, the experience, the spirit of it all. And from the very beginning, with the curiosity and trust of a child, I had wondered, "What mysteries would be revealed? What magic would happen along the way?"

We invited Kansas to join us back to the top and IF I didn't continue, he could take my spot. His male-supportiveness gave everyone a renewed energy to continue. He'd been to the top… he knew how far it was… his different persective kept our minds occupied until we turned the last bend to see close up… Sub Dome!! Holy Moly… there is an end to this trail!

To be Continued… One more part:)))

My Shamanic Journey Continues...

Learning to move through life consciously is shamanic in the sense that we learn to see and experience Spirit in all creation, with a knowing that we are all one, were are all intertwined and we all matter! After all, we were all created by the Creator, whatever name you use!

Just a reminder, a shamanic journey is one where you follow the flow of energy. It takes being conscious and awake to know when the energy is shifting and then you need TRUST yourself and  be free to follow the flow.

I had an amazing three weeks in So Cal...Huntington Beach to be exact. I still had 10 more days that were available to me. An offer to housesit in No. Cal came to me and while I felt like I was complete in So Cal, my head said "STAY, ARE YOU CRAZY?" But when a few things that were scheduled to happen in So Cal fell away it further verified for me, what I was feeling... it was time to shift.

I left Monday morning, after an energy treatment for bladder (emotions, not sex:(! ). The traffic was beyond belief on Hwy 5. (A holiday for many). I arrived to a very chilly Nevada City and woke to snow falling which continued throughout the day, totally supporting a day of rest.

Yesterday I had an appointment with my shaman (you can't do bodywork without receiving it for yourself), which put me in the bath and bed (clearing and releasing) for the rest of the day.

Today...I'm up and alert, trying to figure out a plan to stay balanced on this leg of the journey. My plan...LOL...is to be here until March 12, when I plan to head towards Kansas....You've heard the saying....We Plan and God Laughs!!

I may be traveling through your town. Let me know! We can do a playshop, small get together, pamper party or healing session! What I guarantee...WE WILL HAVE FUN! Happy Trails!

TRIP TO KANSAS - ROAD TRIP!

The 3 P's....my two cousins and myself....on the road again. I just returned from a short trip to Kansas to visit Auntie Em and Toto....well, my aunt and my cousins dog Benny, but close enough!

One of my cousins just found her way back to the clan after a long search for her relations. We realized all our names began with the letter P and so we were named The 3 P's!

I wanted to see, my family and the flight was an amazing $125....I knew it was time to go!  But I especially wanted to see my aunt and uncle who have had to split living areas after 64 years of marriage because my aunt needs assisted care for now.

The big bonus was a girls road trip....my fave! Especially because I got the back seat all to myself!

We headed down to southern Mo, past the Precious Moments attraction, (You know, those cute little figurines that used to be really popular and are a bit less popular now.), all the way to West Plains, nearly to Arkansas. We spent the night there, saw my brother and his family the next day and headed to the Ozarks! My dad had a canoe rental business on the Eleven Point River and we used to vacation in the Ozarks when we were younger.

We stayed at the Lodge of the Four Seasons. It was totally cool! A thunder/lightning/rain storm blew through and I slept out on the back deck. They are having a drought and high temperatures and so the rain was lovely. I got to swish both cousins in the water with my newly acquired aqua massage techniques!

We headed back north where I was privileged to be with my cousins children....young adults, getting ready for their first Saturn Return (Shamanic Astrology), which means they're beginning to wonder, "What's it all about, Alphie!" I loved my time with them. They're so interested and eager to learn new things!

Last stop, my dad's sister who is 82 and lives near the airport. She's this petite little lady and even at age 82, she is a clown....literally, she belongs to a clown club where they go to hospitals and things! She is a crossing guard (in front of her house and looks so cute in her uniform), she volunteers at the hospital and church. She's amazing! Up until last year, she mowed her own acreage on her riding lawn mower!

My family is the best! Thank you for your warm generous hospitality, love and support! I love you! Yes you too Cousin Allen....get over it!
